Tournament Details

  • Tournament format will be determined by total number of registered teams in each age bracket.
  • Brackets will be posted here and an email will be sent to all registered captains prior to the competition.
  • Teams must provide their own bats, gloves and practice balls.
  • Teams must be all one gender.
  • Team rosters shall be limited to 22 persons, including non-playing coaches, non-playing captains and non-playing bench personnel. No more than 20 of these persons may be players. No players will be added to the roster during the tournament.
  • All registration fees and team rules apply to non-playing coaches, non-playing captains and non-playing bench personnel. 
  • Age divisions for all team competition will be determined by the age of the youngest team player as of December 31, 2022.
  • Softball is offered separately for men and women in the following age divisions: 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+, and 75+.

Registration Information

Softball ball teams will register for the state games using a special on-line form.

  • This form should be completed by the captain or the team contact if not the captain. One form per team.
  • Each team member must be listed on this form.
  • Each team member will pay the $40 base registration fee (this applies to non-players and coaches who must also be listed on this form).
  • You will calculate your fees due at the bottom of the form.
  • The form is set to accept the maximum number of team members according to NSGA rules.
  • Age bracket for competition is determined by the age of the YOUNGEST playing member of the team as of December 31, 2022.

To Register:

1. Complete the form and once you are done, click submit at the bottom. The individual listed as the contact on the form will receive confirmation the registration has been submitted. NOTE: The confirmation email comes from JotForm, you may need to check your junk or spam folders to see this email.

2. Send ONE check, payable to Ohio Senior Olympics, for all player fees to:

Checks must be postmarked by May 25, 2022 to be valid. Please include the name of the team on the check.

Your registration is NOT COMPLETE until your registration payment is received.

To complete the form, you will need information on each member of your team. Having this information ready before you begin the form will simplify your process.

Medal Ceremony

  • The medal ceremony will take place after the completion of the tournament.
  • Athletes must be present to receive medals. They will not be mailed.

Qualifying for National Senior Games

  • All first, second, and third place winners at a 2022 NSGA qualifying games will qualify for the 2023 National Senior Games.

OSO Athlete Information

  • All details and events are subject to change based on registration numbers, weather conditions, venue availability, and other reasons. 
  • Withdrawals and no shows will negatively impact brackets and heats.  
  • Absolutely no day-of registration is permissible.

  • Athletes should know and understand the rules specific to their sport. The OSO uses the rules book created by the National Senior Games Association for those sports that are offered at the National Senior Games. Rules for those events not offered at the National Senior Games are those of the official organizing body.
