The Ohio Senior Olympics is always seeking reliable volunteers for a myriad of responsibilities, but two major opportunities in particular.

State Games Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt.  For longer, more active shifts, snacks or lunch may be provided.  Volunteers should bring their own water bottle and portable chair to the event.

The 2022 State Games are held on various days from June 20 through August 20. Tasks range from:

  • Athlete check-in table – check ID, check-off list, give t-shirt in size on registration, answer venue questions
  • Returning/measuring thrown implements during field events
  • Help set-up and take down equipment
  • Act as back-up timers or run time clock
  • Monitor play to make sure games are finished and started timely
  • Deliver results from event area to main area
  • Hand out medals  as results become available

To see a schedule of events, volunteer shifts and duties for each event, please click HERE.   Duties are categorized by level of physical ability as follows:

Low – low amount of energy and physical ability needed, involves some sitting, some walking

Moderate – involves higher activity level with more walking, some standing

High – involves a higher level of activity with a lot of walking and standing

If you’re interested in helping, please CONTACT US and provide your name, email address and cell phone number (in case we need to text you with last-minute changes) and list the sports, dates, and shifts when you’d like to volunteer.  We will confirm with you in an email.

Thank you for volunteering!  Volunteers make the Ohio Senior Olympics State Games possible.
